JEE (Main)16: Apply from Dec 1

Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Unit, Central Board of Secondary Education, has notified the 4th Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2016 for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments and several other Institutions.

The States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland & Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Those seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State level examination, have also to apply for JEE (Main) -2016.  

The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad. The eligibility criteria for JEE (Main) & JEE (Advanced) are different. 

JEE MainThe detailed information bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, eligibility criteria to appear, examination fee, cities of examination, State code of eligibility, age relaxation, process of normalization of marks, eligibility for admission, reservation policies and important dates will be available on JEE (Main) website http://www.jeemain.nic.in on 1st December 2015. 

Examination Schedule: 

Paper 1 (B.E/B. Tech), offline examination (Pen and Paper Based Examination) will be held from 0930-1230 Hours (IST) on 3.4.2016 (Sunday).

Paper 2 (B. Arch/ B. Planning) offline examination (Pen and Paper Based Examination) will be held from 1400-1700 Hours on 3.4.2016 (Sunday).  

The Online examination (Computer Based Examination) for Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech.) only will be held on 09.04.2016 (Saturday) & 10.04.2016 (Sunday) with the 1st shift from 0930-1230 Hours (IST) and the 2nd shift (if required), from 1400-1700 Hours (IST).
